संयुक्त अरब अमीरात से मांग घटने पर वित्त वर्ष 2017-18 के दौरान रत्न एवं आभूषणों का निर्यात 8.67 प्रतिशत गिरकर 2,64,130.64 करोड़ रुपये रह गया. एक उद्योग संगठन ने आज इसकी जानकारी दी. भारतीय रत्न एवं आभूषण निर्यात संवर्धन परिषद के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, 2016-17 के दौरान यह निर्यात 2,89,207.47 करोड़ रुपये रहा था. संगठन ने कहा कि संयुक्त अरब अमीरात में पांच प्रतिशत मूल्यवर्धित कर लगाये जाने के बाद मांग घटने से निर्यात 91,458.57 करोड़ रुपये की तुलना में 27 प्रतिशत गिरकर 66,862.98 करोड़ रुपये रह गया. वित्त वर्ष 2017-18 के दौरान रत्न एवं आभूषण क्षेत्र के मुख्य आयातक हांगकांग (33 प्रतिशत), संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (25 प्रतिशत) और अमेरिका (23 प्रतिशत) रहे हैं. इस क्षेत्र के निर्यात में तरासे गये हीरों का सर्वाधिक योगदान रहा है. इसके निर्यात में 0.18 प्रतिशत वृद्धि हुई और यह 1,52,961.38 करोड़ रुपये पर पहुंच गया.
