Gehlot proposes state games to promote sports in Raj

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said Wednesday Rajastan will start state games on the lines of Asian Games and National games to promote sports in the state.Presenting the budget in the Rajasthan assembly, Gehlot said along with government efforts, active participation of private sector is also necessary to promote sports. The government will bring ‘an entrepreneur-a sport plan’ in which an industrial household will adopt a sport and develop international level facilities for it in the state.He said a new pension scheme will be introduced to give financial support to international players of the state. A new scholarship scheme will be launched to encourage players who get medals in national tournaments.Gehlot said in view of the lack of sports trainers in the state, the provision of Rs 5 crore will be approved for the services of sports trainers. He proposed to spend Rs 2 crore for the construction of the shed for the convenience of viewers at Umaid Stadium in Jodhpur.For Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the state government announced interest subvention scheme, CM Small Industries Encouragement Scheme, for loans of Rs 10 crore. The scheme will include self-help groups also. For the year 2019-20, Rs 50 crore has been provided, while Rs 250 crore will be spent in five years.The government also announced to developed integrated industrial zone near the proposed refinery in Pachpadra of Barmer to provide job opportunities.Gehlot said the phase-B of first phase of metro train in the walled city will become operational by the end of this financial year and the government has started work to prepare revised DPR of second phase of metro network project costing Rs 13,000 crore.The government will also prepare a scheme to ban Pan Masala and Gutkha in the state, Gehlot said.
