SC orders demolition of illegal constructions in Kasauli hotels

The Supreme Court today ordered demolition of illegal constructions at several hotels and resorts in the picturesque Himachal Pradesh town of Kasauli, saying the life of people cannot be endangered for making money. The apex court observed that the illegal constructions had put the entire city in danger, causing landslides, and ordered the demolition of such constructions. The BSE Sensex rose over 100 points in early trade today, continuing its winning spree for the 10th straight session, on positive global leads and sustained buying by domestic institutional investors. 15 dead, several injured as squall hits West Bengal

The nor’wester that hit the city and other districts yesterday left 15 persons dead and 50 others injured, the police said today.
